Shri B. N. Kapila, an ex-service man in the Indian Navy, after his retirement from service, started a business of trading laboratory consumables to the schools and colleges in Chennai. Thus formed Associated Instruments and Chemicals (AIC) in 1964.
The company's genesis began in a 1000 sq ft warehouse with 5 employees and around 500 products. Today, AIC is a preferred supplier of world class scientific laboratory products and instruments to diverse sectors across India.
